20 Closet Essentials

I believe that versatility is the key to any great closet. You've got to buy things that can go with a lot of different things, so you get a lot more bang for your buck. Also, it makes me want to shop less when I feel like the things in my closet can be worn a lot of different ways. I put together this Polyvore board to show an example of closet versatility.

Starting at the top, going right to left.

1.You need a any type of black and brown jacket. I liked the black more dressy coat and then a little edgier brown leather jacket.

2.  A chambray shirt is a must.  It can go with so many different things and you can easily dress it up or down. I chose one that can have the sleeves rolled up so you can also unroll the sleeves if you want a long sleeve.

3.  A short sleeve white button up.

4.  Any striped top.  Preferably with black, white, or grey.

5.  A floral blouse.

6.  3 pencils skirts, a colored skirt,  a black, and a neutral colored skirt.  I think pencil skirts are flattering on everyone.

7.  A great pair of jeans.  I chose flared jeans, to mix it up, from the red and black skinny jeans.

8.  Any pair of colored skinny jeans.

9.  A classic pair of dress pants.  I chose grey.

10.  3 colored cardigans.  Cardigans are such a great way to mix up your wardrobe.

11.  An animal print.  I chose a cardigan so it could be paired with a bunch of different items.

12.  3 tanks.  Tanks are great to go under cardigans or a chambray.
