Happy

I was thinking yesterday that I don't think I've ever been as happy as I am right now.  I've been through some challenges and I finally feel like I'm getting a grip on it

(don't let these words backfire on me, please oh please).

Challenges are what make us strong and as hard as that is to remember, you always come out of it, and in the mean time have had your character strengthened and feel more confident to face the next challenge ahead. Because we all know, we better savor the time when we can say "Life Is Good" because the next day you could be saying, "Life Is Hard".   But for me right now, I feel so at peace with my life, like it's exactly as it should be.  I feel more confident and that I can do anything I set my mind to.

I sure hope this feeling stays around for a while.

Looked Better In My Head

I hate it when this happens. I thought I loved this outfit, until I saw these pictures and the words from Will Smith in Hitch came into my head. He has this perfect outing with Eva Mendes and then everything goes wrong. And he says,

"I saw that playing out a lot differently in my mind."
It's kinda different, kinda the same.

 Bottom line, this outfit looked a lot better in my mind.  I guess that's the good thing about taking pics, actually I take that back, that's the bad thing about taking pics of outfits, you can no longer pretend not to know that your outfit is so not flattering.  But guess what, I'm still gonna wear it because I like it and I don't really care if it doesn't look great on me.

Dreams

I have always had very vivid dreams.  It's kinda fun for me to go to sleep at night because I know I will be entertained for what seems like the entire night. Poor Nick has to endure hearing about the off the wall happenings inside my brain almost every day.


Sometimes my dreams are not so pleasant.  Since I've been married I have reoccuring dreams about "Nick Redd".  It's never just Nick, it's always Nick Redd.  A lot of times I'm single again and I'm wondering what happened to Nick Redd!?! I think oh I just can not put myself through dating again.  It always puts me into a panic and then when I wake up I am so relieved that I have to grab onto him, just to make sure it really was just a dream.

That is the best feeling, to reach over, and have him next to me.  It's such a comfort.


I've read a few books about dreams and their meaning. Here are some things I've learned about dreams.


-All dreams are triggered by something on our minds or in our hearts, so the primary objective must be to relate the dream theme to some event or preoccupation of the previous day or two.


- The feeling tone of the dream usually gives a clue as to what this particular life situation is.


-A dream is correctly interpreted when and only when it makes sense to the dreamer in terms of his present life situation and moves him to change his life constructively.


There's been times when I haven't been happy with my life situation, or I've felt stuck in a rut and I dream that I'm being buried with snow, water, or sand.  Or I'm back at Alta and I've forgotten to go to math every day and now I can't graduate.  Or I'm back on drill team again and either I can't remember any of the dances or I am the most amazing dancer and I can do a million pirouettes in a row.  I told you I have some crazy dreams!


I kept a dream journal for a while and I noticed when I did that I could remember a  lot more of my dreams, so if you're interested and wanting to analyze your dreams I'd recommend having a dream journal that you keep next to your bed.

I just might start it up again.

Kids

I definitely didn't wear this outfit this weekend, as I was tending my sisters kids. I realized that when I have kids I won't be wearing as many high heels and I'll be lucky if I wear makeup. I give it up to all of you moms out there, because you really don't have a lot of time to even shower.

I also realized that having kids is going to be really fun,

my niece and nephew are smart, sweet, grateful, and fun.

 I hope my kids are as cute and nice as they are.

Maybe I can do this mom thing after all???

Bust-a-move

I get real sick of doing the same lame-o poses, so today I just felt like bustin it! I know you can't tell from these pictures, but I was a dancer. It's been about 2 years since I've taken a class, but it is my passion in life and when I dance I never feel more happy.

Calling any adult classes in the Salt Lake area??

I'd love to start taking a class again.

Let it Be

This is something I'm trying to work on in my daily life. Sometimes I just start worrying about a little thing and I think. "I should have said or done something different." It sometimes really affects my day. When I saw this quote on pintrest it really resonated with me. I need to remind myself that all I can do is my best, and to let it be. I'm not going to be perfect and I make mistakes. But it's important to move on and learn and start each day with the resolve that I won't be perfect, but I will try my very best in everything I do.

Tight

I wore this outfit on Saturday and we went to Costco. On the way into the store I asked Nick if I looked ridiculous in these pants because they're so tight. He's like,

"They are really tight."

"Well, you should be happy that your wife wears tight pants, isn't that what husbands like?"

"Yeah, I didn't say they look ridiculous, but they are tight."

Okay I guess he's just stating the obvious, yes they are butt tight....

Shopping Diet

I decided on Saturday after purchasing this outfit that I'm putting myself on a shopping diet. I'm going to try for the next 6 months to go once, maybe twice a month. Because lets face it, when you go to a store, it's just too tempting to not buy something. It's very rare when I go to a store and don't find something I like. And let's be honest, I don't NEED anything. Of course it's fun to get new clothes, but I don't NEED them. So from now until March I'm only going to go to a store 1 or 2 a month. We'll see if I can do it.

Scarf

It's scarf season! Well almost scarf season.

This day it was a little too early to wear the scarf, but I couldn't pass it up when I saw it at Nordstrom.

It's the perfect color and I can see it going with many of my fall/winter wardrobe.

Lashes

I have a thing for long eyelashes, who doesn't?

One of the cutest things about Nick are his eyelashes. One day I was on one side of him and I noticed how long and curly his eyelashes are. Like, he had just curled them, curly. Then later that day I was on the other side of him and noticed that that eye's lashes were stick straight. SO then I had to do a double take of the other side and they were still curly.

One side curly, one side straight.

We laugh about this a lot, how could one side be sooo curly and the other side soooo straight. Well the other day I walked into the bathroom and I find Nick with my eyelash curler curling his stick straight side. He looked at me like,

"What???"

"Um.... what are you doing?"

 "Welllllll.........I'm trying to make the other side curly too!"

Needless to say, it didn't work...

Which I'm kinda glad about because it's just one more thing about him that I find completely adorable.
