Well about an hour and a half after this picture we were in the worst lightning storm I've ever seen. I honestly didn't know if we were going to make it out alive. I've never been so scared in my life. We had to pull off the road because there was so much water and the lightning made it hard to drive. I guess I'm not used to these types of storms, but it was intense.
This will forever be our memory of Kansas, that and the dumpy hotel we stayed in.
The toilet ran all night and there was no stopping it.... So annoying. Okay, enough complaining...

ReplyDeleteI'm from Kansas, and having lived there for the first 18 years of my life, I can tell you that most people will not argue with you when you say it is bare. It's just a fact! However, now that I've been away at college for a few years in a bigger city, I can say that there are things I appreciate more about my home state than I did before. The picture you have posted on here is a perfect example. Being able to see open sky, all of the stars at night unobstructed by city lights and tall buildings...ominous storm clouds rolling in as the sun sets. It's pretty cool stuff. It may not be the place I want to live for the rest of my life, but it sure is nice to return to every once in a while.
