Kansas

Last weekend Nick and I took a road trip from Colorado to Kansas to Oklahoma to Texas.  Our first stop was Kansas, which no offense, is pretty bare.  But when we stopped to get dinner at Pizza Hut Nick spotted this field to take pictures in.

Oh and see those clouds behind me??

Well about an hour and a half after this picture we were in the worst lightning storm I've ever seen.  I honestly didn't know if we were going to make it out alive.  I've never been so scared in my life.  We had to pull off the road because there was so much water and the lightning made it hard to drive.  I guess I'm not used to these types of storms, but it was intense.

This will forever be our memory of Kansas, that and the dumpy hotel we stayed in.

The toilet ran all night and there was no stopping it....  So annoying.  Okay, enough complaining...

  3. Katie, I've always loved your fashion so I'm very excited about this new website! Good job! And I agree with Amy, is that really what you were wearing or did you change to take pictures?! I would have been in a hoodie and sweat shorts. Maybe that's why I need to follow your website ;)

  6. I'm from Kansas, and having lived there for the first 18 years of my life, I can tell you that most people will not argue with you when you say it is bare. It's just a fact! However, now that I've been away at college for a few years in a bigger city, I can say that there are things I appreciate more about my home state than I did before. The picture you have posted on here is a perfect example. Being able to see open sky, all of the stars at night unobstructed by city lights and tall buildings...ominous storm clouds rolling in as the sun sets. It's pretty cool stuff. It may not be the place I want to live for the rest of my life, but it sure is nice to return to every once in a while.

    P.S. You're outfits are adorable!
